Kinghorn Lab Showcases Parkinson's Research at the UCL Science Fair

The Kinghorn Lab recently took part in the UCL Faculty of Life Sciences Science Fair, where we introduced visitors to how the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, is used to study neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease.
Through an interactive climbing assay, visitors discovered how changes in the locomotor ability of fruit flies can be used to model Parkinson's disease and help researchers better understand the mechanisms underlying the condition. It was a fantastic opportunity to share our research with the public and inspire the next generation of scientists.
